What are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are minimally invasive cosmetic treatments that have gained popularity over the years for their ability to improve uneven skin tone and texture without any major surgery, downtime, or recovery period. Chemical peels come in different intensities – light, medium, and deep – each of which has its own set of benefits. Each type of chemical peel is composed of a unique blend of gentle acids that work to slough away the outermost layers of skin on the treated areas, resulting in reduced acne scarring, improved skin texture, a more even skin tone, reduction of fine lines, and wrinkles, and reversal of sun damage.
How Much do Chemical Peels Cost?
The price of your chemical peel will vary depending on the type of treatment you choose, the size of your treated area, and the amount of product needed to help you achieve your desired results. To get a better idea of how much your chemical peel will cost, come in for a private consultation with Dr. Amy B. Lewis and her staff.

What Can I Expect During my Chemical Peel?
Before your chemical peel treatment begins, Dr. Amy B. Lewis will apply a topical anesthetic to your treated area. This is to ensure you remain completely comfortable throughout the entirety of your treatment. Once numb, Dr. Lewis will apply the chemical solution to your treated area, typically the face. She will allow this chemical solution to sit on the face for a few minutes, then gently wash it away and apply a neutralizing solution. This will stop the chemical peel solution from further exfoliating the treated area. After their chemical peel treatments, many of our patients report being able to return to their normal daily activities including work.
What Results Can I Expect from my Chemical Peel?
The recovery period needed for your chemical peel treatment will depend on the type and intensity of the chemical peel you choose to receive. Light chemical peels typically involve the skin sloughing and peeling for three to five days after treatment, while deeper chemical peels may take up to 10 to 14 days to completely heal from. Patients will be able to see visible results immediately after recovering from their chemical peel treatment, with dramatic results after a consistent schedule of regular treatments.
